Divergent

Divergent

As the story starts it explains the details of the new society. The five factions create peace, or so they thought. They did explain each faction twice in the beginning which was a little much but if you hadn't read the books it was probably necessary. They did make it loyal to the books in many ways including a lot of the dialogue.
When the story begins Tris is getting her hair cut by her mother and they talk about the aptitude test she has to take. She gets a strange result in the test. Her test is three different factions which is dangerous. They call her divergent. Right away the clothes draw you in. You find yourself looking at each factions and thinking about what it would be like to live there. Right away you say which ones you wouldn't be a part of and then some that you might. It follows Tris as she choses Dauntless over her faction, Abnegation. She is obviously one of the bravest people there. She is the first to jump into Dauntless and since she comes from Abnegation she is a target to the others.
The pick on her and some of them bully her but she stands tall and has friends to back her up. She has fears, that she learns about in her fear landscape but she doesn't face them everyday. Her leader, Four grows fond of her as she does him. Just like in the book they fall in love and he protects her. The theories of the other factions are soon learned to be true when she wakes one morning and finds all of Dauntless except for the leaders under a simulation. She follows them acting like she is under it too. She sees that Four is also not under the simulation meaning that he is Divergent as well.
There is so much more but you are going to have to go see it to find out what happens in the end. The acting was very well played by Shailene Woodley and Theo James. I don't however like some of the other supporting roles. Though Kate Winslet did a great job playing her evil part some of the others didn't quite look the part. Jai Courtney and Zoë Kravitz did a nice job acting out their parts. I really saw the characters from the book come to life. But I have to credit to Christian Madsen who played Al. He did a nice job playing the innocent guy and then flip the script on everyone and become something you are not expecting. I liked that though i wish they made him even more weak like they did in the book.
Overall this was a very well done movie with a lot of real action. They had a lot of cuts and bruises just as they talked about in the books. The clothing and the people lifted off of the page. Everyone should see it.
