White House Down

White House Down

This action packed thriller was defiantly a little wild but yet somewhat believable. Though this story is extremely highly unlikely it is a very good one and could almost think possible. The film begins with a young girl played by Joey King, named Emily Cale. Emily and her father John (Channing Tatum) become the main characters of this film. As the white house is taken over John and Emily get caught up in it. John saves the president while looking for Emily and they have to fight to keep the president alive and safe. Though on the outside they think the president is dead so the vice president is signed into office. Emily is lost in the huge building without her father and has to try and stay hidden from the terrorists.
Joey King does an amazing job of portraying a small frightened yet strong girl. She is such an amazing little actress, also in the great and creepy film, The Conjuring. While John try's to protect the president from the invaders of the building extra story lines come in when they realize that the person in charge is on a suicide mission. But the real leader doesn't come until the end. Emily takes her video camera and takes a video of the terrorists and posts it on youtube. The terrorists catch her and bring her in the room with the rest of the hostages but only after she got the footage. Once this footage was out they could put an identity on the terrorists in the building. Once they were all out they found out the information on them and realize that they were all potential threats to the president.
After she is caught there is a series of action packed events leading to the new presidents death (though the real president is still alive) and the Secretary of State is put into office. His first act as president is to bomb the white house. The terrorists inside have threatened to make nuclear attacks on other countries. The new president feels this is the best way to solve it. After threatening to kill Emily Cale many times eventually most of the terrorists are killed but the fight isn't over because the air strike was still supposed to happen. As the planes are in rout Emily grabs a flag and runs out on the lawn of the White House there she waves away the planes saving the white house, the people around it and the people in it including the real president and her father. The real person behind the attack was figured out to be the Secretary of State who was initiated to be the president. The story lines are detailed and if you follow them it keeps you at the edge of your seat. The action was intense. Channing Tatum of course did a wonderful, real job of playing a father to Emily Cale (Joey King). He has a daughter himself so his acting was great. And who does love Channing Tatum?

"Get your hands off my Jordan's!" five star quote.

"Special agent Todd keeps making those sounds I'm gonna start looking at him." Four star quote.

"How do you lose a rocket launcher?" four star quote.
